As dawn broke, the first light of morning painted the horizon in hues of cerise pink and saffron orange. Jenny, the equestrian ranch’s seasoned riding instructor, gobbled up her bread and jam sandwich. With her sun-kissed skin, skilled emerald eyes and cascade of auburn hair tied up in a half-bun ready for a day’s work. She sharply strolled to meet her stallions at the shed.

Jenny’s attire was chic and the most comfortable to be in all day. Tight-fitted olive top with black leather pants, paired with her long grey boots. The green and black patterned bandana was neatly knotted behind her hair, to protect her from the scorching sunlight. As she approached the barn door, she entered and stroked the stallions gently. Her friendly and athletic personality showcased years of riding and nurturing for horses.

Jenny’s day began with checking the horses and feeding them the fresh beige hay, kept hidden from the stallions. Doc Tom, a strong-willed and calm Quarter Horse, Velstine, an elegant and glossy Arabian and Starry, a thoroughbred yet friendly, each received her attention. Her unwavering patience and kindness lead her to connect deeply with best of both worlds; learners and horses.

Today, Jenny had a group of young riders eager to learn the art of horseback riding. She put her best foot forward and started introductions in a pleasant tone; emphasizing on safety instructions and garments to prevent mishaps. She professionally taught the adolescents on maintaining posture while riding and gave effective grooming lessons. Cleaning hooves, brushing coats, checking for injuries and growing bonds with the horse, were ecstatically learned by the students.

Jenny’s enthusiasm was infectious, igniting a passion for riding in those around her. As the riders mounted their horses, Jenny complimented them with warm praises; creating an environment where learning felt achievable. Soon, the fiery sunset painted the sky in a kaleidoscope of fiery hues, Jenny blithely reflected back on her day. She professionally guided her young riders through new challenges. It was incredibly worth her while in fostering connections between the non-verbal animals and chitter-chatter students! For Jenny it was not just a job; it was a way of life that she immensely cherished, at the Equestrian Ranch.
